Project Statement
To expedite the processes of cancer diagnosis, we designed an at-home blood test modeled after diabetic glucose meters. Tests detect tumor antigens, and digitally display antigen levels in the blood. Blood samples can be taken near potential problem areas. Certain antigen levels will alert the patient to seek medical consultation.
Technological Application
Delayed detection of cancers, most applicable to brain and cervical cancers, is among the leading causes of cancer-related fatalities. Cancers in later stages are more difficult to treat due to the large amount of cell reproduction occuring while the cancer is undetected. Early detections allows for improved removal of cancers.
